Managed to visit Guangzhou lately. Well known as Canton to the westerners. A nice place to visit. The grave of Saad ibni Abi Waqas (The companion sent by the beloved prophet to introduce the Islamic teachings in China) can be found in this city. It is not difficult to find a muslim restaurant and even a mosque for you to perform friday prayer. Don't miss to cruise the Pearl River in the evening as it can be a memorable activity while you were there. In Dongguan, at the outskirt of Guangzhou you can find remnants of a fort used during the Opium War. The most significant lesson from the war is how the westerners used opium to weaken the community to ensure victory. Shown on the left is the statue of five goats. This statue is the symbol of the town, which means you haven't reach Guanzhou if you don't visit this place. More photos can be seen in my next posting.Saturday, May 16, 2009
